It’s been quite a chaotic few weeks! I’ve been playing mah jongg a lot more (anyone else signed up for the Bambird Scramble?!) and have been dealing with some health and family issues so my focus has been all over the place lately.
I haven’t touched my needlepoint or cross stitch but I did finally learn how to crochet! Turns out I just needed to learn the Single Crochet Foundation stitch, which combines the chain and first single crochet rows into one and then it was off to the races! At least with single crochet…I haven’t explored other stitches really or learned how to read crochet patterns yet…
The impetus of attempting crochet again was that my mom needed a replacement for her favorite washcloth and the friend of a friend who had crocheted it had passed away. So the goal is to crochet her a few dishcloths and maybe some for myself and my aunts too. I will say that cotton is hard on my hands, so I can’t do more than a few rows a day, despite it only being around 40 stitches. But I love how it’s turning out! This is Loops & Threads Classic Cotton in Pastel Ombré, which I ordered from Michael’s.

I’ve also done some knitting but have no pictures of any of it for some reason. I finished a few hats to donate and started some more. But most excitingly, I’ve started my Bodega Blouse by Postcard Knits (here’s my Ravelry project page). I’m using Lion Brand Heartland in Capitol Reef which is a light pink shade (also from Michael’s!). I’m using US 8/5.0mm needles so it’s working up pretty quickly.
I’m currently working on both the front and back yokes. I know I have a shorter than standard armhole depth but I’m not sure how exactly that translates to the pattern instructions in terms of shortening the yokes, so I want to be able to try it on a different points to see how it fits.
Here’s hoping the next few weeks are a little calmer and allow for more crafting time!
